FastWorkbench mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 is mod which add few things to original vanilla workbench such as faster run and less network traffic. Mod was created by ShadowsOfFire. Concretely, this addon put last used recipe in the cache memory and firstly checks this recipe before scanning whole base of recipes. With this mod it is possible that shift click crafting works much faster and also it lowers network traffic. Network traffic is lower because in most time it uses cached memory rather than by sending a packet every time.

Other thing that this mod do is to disables the recipes book which are part of the players itself setting them to versions that do not do anything. Reason for that is that most players don’t even use this option in game and with this feature disabled it further reduces network traffic. Mentioned features of this mod only apply to a vanilla workbench or other mod crafting stations should do recipes caching on their own.

How to install FastWorkbench mod
1. Install Minecraft forge (if you don’t have it yet installed)
2. Locate and open the Minecraft application folder.
– Windows OS start Run from start menu and type %appdata% and then click on Run.
– OSX (MAC) open Finmder, hold down Alt and click Go, then click on the Library in the top menu bar. Now open folder Applicaion Support and look for Minecraft.
– Linux (most distributions), Minecraft folder is located on /home/yourusername/.minecraft ( dot (.) folder is hidden directory on Linux, so press Ctrl+H to unhide folder)
3. Copy the mod file which you just have downloaded (.jar file) into the mods folder, inside of minecraft folder. If you don’t have mods folder, create this folder by yourself.
4. Start Minecraft, click on MODS button and check if your new mod is successfully installed and added
