Roost mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 is a mod created by timrwood and it’s used to build your own henhouse. Using this mod you can create home for your chickens, place where they can sleep, live, breed and lay eggs. If you feel like a hen farmer or you ever wished to build your small chicken empire, give this mod a chance.
Collect eggs, breed chickens and build your own henhouse
This mod adds following items to vanilla game: Roost, Chicken breeder, Chicken catcher and Roost collector.
Roost – if a chicken is in the roost, all items they drop will stay in the roost. One roost can held total 16 chickens.
Chicken breeder – if you put two chickens in a breeder, you will notice that curtains of breeder are down. Your chickens are ready to breed, the breeder can hold 64 seeds and 2 seeds will be used every time the chickens breed.
Roost collector – the collector will collect all dropped items nearby the roost. So you can put Roost collector in the middle of henhouse which can be big as 9×9 blocks.
Roost mod can work with other chicken mods such as Chickens mod and More chickens mod. We will shortly write about that mods too.

How to install Roost mod
1. Install Minecraft forge (if you don’t have it yet installed)
2. Locate and open the Minecraft application folder.
– Windows OS start Run from start menu and type %appdata% and then click on Run.
– OSX (MAC) open Finder, hold down Alt and click Go, then click on the Library in the top menu bar. Now open folder Applicaion Support and look for Minecraft.
– Linux (most distributions), Minecraft folder is located on /home/yourusername/.minecraft ( dot (.) folder is hidden directory on Linux, so press Ctrl+H to unhide folder)
3. Copy the mod file which you just have downloaded (.jar file) into the mods folder, inside of minecraft folder. If you don’t have mods folder, create this folder by yourself.
4. Start Minecraft, click on MODS button and check if your new mod is successfully installed and added
